Simon Yam: First time filming in 3D Movie & I fight better than Donnie Yen
Simon Yam (任達華) accepted an interview from Entertainment Channel (Movie-Montage 電影蒙太奇) hosted by Natalie Mitchell, and discussed about the filming process and unforgettable memories for new movie, 3D The Iceman Cometh (3D冰封俠:重生之門).
As this was the first time Simon filmed 3D movie, he expressed that it was a different experience compared to the past movies he had participated. He said "The pace for filming 3D movie is very slow as the photography machine is extremely big and makes it difficult to operate. The preparation is completely different compared to the normal action movies. The pace is much slower when filming an action movie." Simon had lesser action scenes in the movie compared to Donnie Yen (甄子丹) and Wang Baoqiang (王寶強) and Simon jokingly said "I fight better than him!"
The male lead, Donnie Yen was Simon's opponent and even became the director for action scenes. Simon praised Donnie for putting his best effort in the movie and said "He is very passionate towards martial arts and has very high expectations too. The movie quality will be good if the expectations is high and this is important. Donnie spends a lot of effort in action scenes such as a particular scene which requires us to climb up the hill and it is freezing and has snow slide. Thanks to everybody's effort, so that we can overcome all obstacles and complete the scene."
As there was too many obstacles, Simon confessed that he hoped there will not be a part 3 for this movie and said "3D The Iceman Cometh has part 1 and 2 already. We encounter frozen ice, many dangerous action scenes and the filming process is extremely difficult. Thus, please do not film part 3. I am very scared of cold, dare not eat slush and even no ice for cold beverages after filming this movie."
