Jay Chou files a lawsuit for his Black Beauty
Four years ago Jay Chou (周杰倫) appeared in the movie The Green Hornet. After the movie promotion ended, film-makers gifted the Black Beauty (the car used in the movie) to Jay Chou. Although he has not obtained the license to drive it on the Taiwanese roads, but the Ministry of Finance requires $580,000 for tax (approximately HK$140,000). Jay is deeply dissatisfied and decides to appeal this matter in court with a lawsuit. However, all general props that enter or imported to Taiwan must pay tax. The price is unusually high and the process is complicated, just like the film The Hobbit, fighting the dragon. It is known, the car was flown to Taiwan for promotions. The importation and tariff fee totaled up to NT$20 million (more than HK$50,000).
