A rich second generation man resembled Ruco Chan and impersonated as doctor? Thanks to CCTV (Eye in the Sky)!
A rich second generation man born in 1990s impersonated as a doctor and was arrested last afternoon (17 April). The police will be pressing charges against him and the hearing will be conducted in the court in Kowloon at 9pm tomorrow (18 April).
The accused was 24 years old man whose appearance resembled the artiste, Chan Chin Pang, Ruco (陳展鵬). The name of the impersonated doctor was Chan Chin Pang (陳展鵬), who happened to have the same name as an internal doctor in United Christian Hospital (聯合醫院). The reporters contacted artiste, Ruco Chan to check with him and he felt that it resembled to filming series: "It is very weird and I guess the nurses will not assume the accused is me?" Ruco expressed it was odd that nobody discovered an impersonated doctor in the hospital: "Perhaps the hospital staff were too busy and fortunately, nothing serious happened." He added that the story could be used for filming series in the future.
The identity of impersonated doctor was exposed
Based on understanding, the impersonated doctor worked in the hospital for a month and went into the orthopedic ward to look at the patient's medical board on 15 April. The ward nurse felt suspicious after seeing him and pointed he was not an orthopedic doctor. He then explained to the nurse he was a doctor in A&E department and came over to visit his friend. The nurse told him to leave but the impersonated doctor entered into the orthopedic ward shortly on the same day. The nurse requested him to leave again and decided to report to the security after feeling highly suspicious. Subsequently, the hospital referred to the CCTV (Eye in the Sky) and investigated the bizarre issue.
The surname of the impersonated doctor was Mao (毛) and he was 24 years old. He was welcomed by the nurses and patients due to his height, muscular build and dashing looks. Mao came from a small family with parents, sister, brother in-law and 5 years old nephew. Earlier, he studied medical in Australia for 3 years, but failed many subjects and returned to Hong Kong halfway.
As Miao's ambition was to become a doctor and failing his medical studies was a hard blow to him. As such, he sneaked into the hospital to impersonate as doctor in order to realise his dream. From March this year, he impersonated as doctor at least 10 times and managed to get the temporary staff pass from the security. He made his visits to children and orthopedic department as a doctor in United Christian Hospital.
