Flora Chan's husband bankruptcy was not over. But Flora moved into luxury apartment and purchased Benz?

44 years old Flora Chan (陈慧珊) was forced to become the sole breadwinner after her husband, Mike Chung (钟家鸿) was declared bankruptcy in year 2012. Flora went back to acting for a living but her workload was reduced drastically compared to the past. 6 months ago, she filmed the series, Never Dance Alone (女人俱乐部) and begun to film another new series, Good Morning, Boss (波士早晨) recently. Flora emphasised before that she had no financial problem and bought a Mercedes car at $470,000 in the beginning of the year, and paid for a monthly rental at $80,000 in Shouson Hill. No wonder she continued her diva temper and pointed that she showed a black face while filming series.

Ever since her husband was declared bankruptcy, Flora needed to find ways to pay for her daughter, Mira Chung (钟律然) monthly school fees which was almost $10,000. 2 years ago, she paid a monthly rental of $50,000 to stay in Pok Fu Lam but move house to an old apartment in the same area. Flora also sold away her beloved Mercedes car.

On the surface, Flora's living standard appeared to decrease. At that point, she was trying to earn money and promised to film the series, Triumph in the Skies II (冲上云霄II) but suddenly rejected to act when the film producer Tommy Leung (梁家树) was about to begin the filming. Flora then announced she will be resuming her studies in English and had no financial problem at all.

1 series per year

After the bankruptcy, her husband was fully devoted to take care of his daughter and became Flora's manager. However, her popularity and workload was a drastic difference compared to the past and she only filmed 1 series in the recent year. Last year, Flora went to film the series, Gan Xi Jia Dao (港媳嫁到) in Mainland China and her role was reduced from main to supporting instead. Last October, Flora was a substitute for Rachel Lee who was suffering leg injury and went for stage performance in Genting Highlands. She then went into 'hibernating' mode thereafter and only started to film the new series, Good Morning, Boss recently.

On 17 March around 3.30pm, Flora and Mike drove the new Mercedes car to fetch their daughter and maid from their new apartment to the supermarket in Hong Kong Parkview. They then returned home after shopping for half an hour.

In fact other than the new apartment, Flora owned 3 cars under Talent Hues Management Ltd. Besides the new Mercedes, she also bought BMW car at $300,000 and silver Benz at $410,000. On 13 March, Flora drove the old Benz to TVB when filming series while her husband drove the new Mercedes.

Husband's bankruptcy did not affect the spouse

Flora's husband continued to live in posh apartment and drove luxury car despite the bankruptcy. According to the lawyer, Vitus Leung (梁永铿), he said: "Her husband bankruptcy will not affect his spouse if they are financially independent. There is no problem even if her husband stays idle and uses his spouse's money. Also, it is fine when her husband drove her car as long as it is in her spouse's name."

Threw the script and rejected to reply

Flora Chan returned to filming but it seemed that she was unused to the operations in TVB. According to the source, she had many requests and little interactions with other colleagues during the filming. On 12 April, Flora went for location shooting for new series in Wong Chuk Hang and showed a black face again when facing the reporters and tried to avoid the camera as well. Later, she lost her temper and threw the script on the floor and her PA picked it up instead. When the reporters asked about her doctorate situation, Flora tried to avoid the camera and said: "Thank you."

In a happy mood when seeing her daughter

After half an hour, many reporters started to leave and Flora's husband drove the new car with her daughter to fetch her. Apparently, Flora showed black face the whole day and finally smiled upon seeing her daughter. A crew staff exposed: "Flora looked down on crew team and spoke to them harshly. She also scolded them in English and many people were forced to tolerate her temper, and her acting skills deteriorated as well."

According to the source, TVB did not intend to renew contract with Flora after filming the series, Good Morning, Boss in order to avoid trouble. However, Flora understood her acting career will be short-lived and already made planning to further her studies in September, and might work as a teacher in the US, officially begin her 'westerner' life.
