Artiste Du Ping (杜平) celebrated his 80 years old birthday by holding banquet in Admiralty and invited his old friends such as Bowie Wu (胡楓), Law Lan (羅蘭), Nancy Sit (薛家燕), Ng Man Tat (吳孟達), Wu Yu (吳雨) and others. As Du Ping has already migrated to Australia, he wanted to hold his birthday banquet over there but his family felt it was better to celebrate in Hong Kong where he grows up. He will stay in Hong Kong for around 2 to 3 weeks and celebrate Lunar New Year in Australia.
Du Ping disclosed his godson, Deric Wan (溫兆倫) specially returned from Beijing to celebrate his birthday and gave him a mysterious gift: He told to open the gift on the following day." He added he will return to Hong Kong around 2 to 3 times to have gathering with old friends. When asked if he had any intention to perform again, Du Ping said: "I will be kick out given for my age and no point to hinder the earth for rotating."
As for Deric, he arrived very early and accepted an online interview from the media. However when the reporters tried to interview him after that, Deric asked which company and replied with one sentence after knowing it was ON.CC (東網): "I can only say hello to everybody!" He then rejected the interview and left immediately.
