Bowie Lam explains the reason behind his artiste name
It was announced on 11 January that legendary English singer David Bowie passed away at the age of 69. Also known by the same name, Bowie Lam (林保怡) accepted an interview and expressed: "David Bowie isn't that old yet, such a pity that he passed away! His songs comprise a large percentage in my collection of vinyl records. My most favorite song of his is China Girl. (Did you name yourself Bowie because of him?) Back then when I signed with Warner Music Group because my boss spoke English, I named myself Bowie so he would have a deep impression of me. After I released my album, the company also told me to change my Chinese name to "Bo Yee" (保怡) in order to match Bowie. Thus, "Bo Yee" became my artiste name."
