Charlene Choi defended William Chan: There is no third party

On 20 September, Charlene Choi (蔡卓妍) and William Chan (陳偉霆) announced the ending of their 5 years relationship and Charlene returned to Hong Kong from Suzhou. Yesterday afternoon, Charlene appeared at San Po Kong (新蒲崗) to rehearse for the charity programme and 10 media were present to interview. The organisation committee arranged the commencement of press conference at 5pm. Charlene, Gillian Chung (鍾欣潼) and a group of dancers were taking photographs and it was obvious Charlene was trying to force a smile and looked slight haggard as well. After that, they begun to sing and dance for rehearsal. Charlene seemed to look tired and it was unsure if she was affected by the separation news.

Emphasised no third party

Subsequently, Gillian accompanied her 'sister', Charlene for interview and it was her first debut reply towards the separation news. Charlene declined to reveal the actual timing of separation and when asked if William fell in love with Mainland China artiste, Zanilia Zhao (趙麗穎) and this caused their break-up, Charlene emphasised several times that there was no third party at all and defended him: "Nope from the beginning to the end. We are busy and see each other lesser. (Rumoured William's high popularity caused their break-up?) He is not such person. I know him for many years and we are good friends now even no longer as lovers. I know him very well and he is definitely not such person. (Still friends after separation?) We are friends." Charlene added the fans and pressure were the causes of their break-up and said: "I do not mind people attack me but sad to see some fans attack the opposite party. This is the worst scenario that I do not wish to see."

Separation was not used as promotion tactic

When asked about the rumours relating to announce their separation was to promote their songs and series, Charlene denied it and said: "Not every artiste will use it and I am not from the beginning to the end. As long as you do not ask and I have no reply, it is a good promotion method." Charlene disclosed her mood was normal now but Charlene's eyes was red during the interview. Gillian expressed she accompanied her and when asked if she consoled Charlene, she said: "It is in our hearts and inconvenient to reveal the details."
