Jackie Chan filmed bus explosion scene is London and the residents mistook as terrorist attack

Action movie star Jackie Chan (成龍) and Pierce Brosnan are filming new movie, The Foreigner in London but the bus explosion scene caused fear to the nearby residents and received complaints as well.

Caused false alarm to the public

The location scene was filmed in Lambeth Bridge which was close to the parliament. At that point, the bus was blew up which caused panic to the residents and tourists who assumed it was terrorist attack. The witness described there was fire and heavy black smokes when the bus exploded but realised it was a false alarm upon knowing it was for filming movie purpose.

Received complaints from the residents

The producer for The Foreigner movie explained they had issued notification to the nearby residents and made sufficient warnings such as distributing flyers. However, the residents remained unsatisfied and complained to the relevant authority. They expressed the notifications was inadequate and it reminded them of the terrorist attack during year 2005. But Port of London disclosed the firefighters were prepared before the filming in case of any accidents.

Mistook as terrorist attack

Jackie Chan is in London when accepting a telephone interview from ON.CC (東網) and disclosed the area was closed to the public before the filming started. They also pasted notifications about filming explosion scene but he was shocked upon knowing the residents mistook as terrorist attack. In fact, the production applied permission to film the scene around 6 months ago and it was finally approved. He added there was several scenes which had yet to film with unknown locations and the movie should wrap up in mid March 2016.
