Virginia Lok explained TVB tried to retain lucky star, Bobby Au Yeung. His manager: Comfortable working cooperation was most important
Bobby Au Yeung's (歐陽震華) series always received good ratings and known as 'lucky star 福將' in TVB, and it was shocking that his contract was not renewed out of sudden. After the senior management of TVB was aware of the news, it arranged TVB Executive, Catherina Tsang (曾勵珍) to resolve the contract renewal issue. Yesterday, Bobby's manager, Lydia explained that the contract renewal problem was not that serious and TVB will arrange the meeting after gathering more information. Lydia expressed that TVB was shocked and anxious after knowing about it and Catherina explained this was not their intention. Earlier, Catherina was on leave and will have a meeting with them later. Lydia mentioned that failure to renew contract did not matter and comfortable working cooperation was most important. In fact, Bobby was approached by other companies all along but rejected it, as he had been working happily with TVB.
Lydia: Failure for contract renewal did not matter
TVB Executive, Virginia Lok (樂易玲) expressed that Bobby's relationship with TVB was good and he was an important artiste to them. She was also around when her colleague was negotiating with Bobby's manager. As there was some changes in Bobby's working schedule, the appropriate working cooperation was either 1 series per year, 2 series in 3 years or 1 series in 2 years and this will give less hardship to Bobby. His manager suggested to do it when it was suitable and both parties decided to return to have some thinking first. As such, they did not expect to see such news. When asked if Catherina assisted in the negotiation, Virginia replied Catherina and Bobby worked together for many years and will think of appropriate working plan for him.
Moses Chan was surprised: It was a pity
During the god worshipping ceremony for new series, Trendsetter (潮流教主) yesterday, Moses Chan (陳豪) expressed Bobby was a loyal artiste to TVB and felt it was a pity. Moses renewed his contract with TVB not long ago and disclosed his wife, Aimee Chan's (陳茵媺) contract with TVB was not expired yet. When asked if he will help to fulfil his wife's contract and allow her to take care of their sons devotedly, Moses turned the table around: "Can I? She is an outstanding artiste and I support her in acting as her husband and fan. I am being serious."
Spencer Leung: Bobby did not work for money sake
Yesterday, Spencer Leung (梁思浩) was filming a program and when mentioned about TVB did not renew contract with TVB, he said: "Bobby did not work for money but happiness instead. Thus, he only filmed 1 series per year. He is a good artiste with no requests and how can Virginia Lok treat him this way?"
