Filming for movie version of Return of the Cuckoo starts for one night and stops for two weeks
Everyone misses the 'Chu Ge Ge 初哥哥' in the old series, Return of the Cuckoo (十月初五), and the original cast will be filming for the movie version.
The filming started on 8 November and the first round was karaoke session. In the movie, 'Chu Ge Ge' was able to talk and sing song again. On that night, they posted group photos on Weibo and it was normal for everyone to feel excited as the series was broadcasted 14 years ago. However, why no updates after the first night of filming? In addition, the filming had started and isn't it odd for Julian Cheung (張智霖) to have free time to celebrate his son's birthday?
Six days ago according to the report, Julian Cheung was unsatisfied with the movie version directed by Patrick Kong (葉念琛). On the first night of filming, the director arranged 'Chu Ge Ge' and 'Jun Hao 君好' to sing a song which represented both remained to have feelings for each other. But Julian felt that the script did not really suit the character of 'Chu Ge Ge' and the feeling was not right. Thus, he approached Patrick Kong and Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) for discussion in the room. Everyone assumed it was fine after the discussion but Julian was still unsatisfied after three takes. Eventually, he told Patrick Kong to re-write the script and submit within two weeks. As such, the filming started one night and stopped for two weeks.
Ever wonder what is the exact reason that Julian Cheung can overwrite Patrick Kong's authority? Guess we need to ask the party involved. Everyone knew Julian had a fiery temper and could it be related to the organization committee commented on his 'loyalty children' speech during the award ceremony earlier or perhaps higher expectations of himself? Apparently before the filming, Julian had many discussions with the director but unfortunate situation was still unavoidable.
