Lord of Shanghai series: Kenneth Ma explains voice dubbing is to match the role
Artist Kenneth Ma (馬國明) attended worshipping ceremony for new series, ICAC Investigators 2016 (廉政行動2016) in Tseung Kwan O TVB City.
Hoped to establish rapport with Herman Yau
Although Kenneth disclosed he had not received the script a few days ago, but he looked forward to it as it was his first time to film series related to 'ICAC': "The most attractive part is working with the director, Herman Yau (邱禮濤) and immediately agree to film it without knowing the cast member team. Hope to establish rapport and learn something from him. (Wish to film movie?) Needs to try everything as an artist."
Voice dubbing in order to match the role
When asked if voice dubbing was required for his role in Lord of Shanghai (梟雄) series which was currently broadcasting, Kenneth replied voice dubbing was to match the role and make the audiences feel that he was younger version of Anthony Wong (黃秋生): "My friends ask if Anthony is doing the voice dubbing when the series is airing and this means success. Of course, we want to achieve the effects and need to approach Anthony for voice dubbing in order to have 100% success but he has hectic work schedule."
Asking about renewing the contract with TVB, Kenneth responded they had initial discussion as there was some time until his contract expired. He added that he heard about people renewing the contract after entering the room within 3 seconds: "It does not happen to me before. Perhaps I am not that important."
