James Ng urges netizens to help protect African wild elephants from being hunted
Popular artiste James Ng (吳業坤) contributed in a wildlife rescue campaign for elephants. In the campaign commercial, it captures James in Africa playing a drum to call the public's attention to help and show their concern about the situation of endangered African wild elephants being hunted for their tusks. Besides playing the drum, James called out the whole community to play the same rhythm as him using anything from cans to furniture or other instruments. He asked people to use social media platforms to invite friends to join and wake up the public attention to endangered wildlife, especially wild elephants in Africa. He also interacted with a cartoon African elephant to convey a "no sale no killing" message.
James added: "I am studying environmental science and I think our generation should be concerned about the planet". He also hopes to make an effort to help out with the environmental protection. James said in the beginning he does not know much about the situation of wild African elephants being hunted and killed: "I only realised after filming the commercial for the campaign that I played an important character representing Hong Kong. In fact, elephants are so cute, we should protect them and not be hunted and killed. I hope everyone can respond to my appeal".
