Hong Kong Veteran Actor Ng Ma (午馬) has been suffering from lung cancer and passed away at aged 71 this Morning (4 Feb 2014). In the same Morning, Ng Ma's good friend, Cheung Kuen (張權) accepted a telephone interview and confirmed that Ng Ma had been suffering from lung cancer and died due to this illness. In fact, the cancer cells had been spreading since 10 months ago and Ng Ma decided to rest at home as well as mentally prepared himself for the worst.
Cheung Keun added that he was notified about Ng Ma's death by another good friend Lam Wai (林威) and revealed Ng Ma had promised to attend a Shaw Brothers classmate dinner function last night, but still he could not go there eventually. Cheung Kuen saw Ng Ma for the last time when they were spending 5 days of holidays together in Xiamen. Apparently, Ng Ma did not lose weight drastically and even looked energetic. Thus Cheung Kuen assumed Ng Ma was still in good condition. When asked if Ng Ma had any wishes to fulfil and any children as well, Cheung Kuen expressed Ng Ma did not have any other wishes and only hoped to spend his remaining days happily. Based on his understanding, Ng Ma only had one daughter.
Another good friend of Ng Ma is Mang Hoi (孟海) who is also a Hong Kong actor, Mang Hoi revealed that while filming a movie in Mainland China, Ng Ma told him he was feeling sick while taking a shower. Therefore, Ng Ma decided to return to Hong Kong and celebrate Lunar New Year with his family. Mang Hoi hoped to say his last farewell to Ng Ma and expressed that Ng Ma is married to his wife Ma Yin (an Actress) for 20 plus years and they have a 11 years old daughter.
